Boxing legend Barry McGuigan leaves I’m a Celebrity after 20 days in a surprise double elimination alongside Maura Higgins. This emotional run included touching moments discussing his daughter’s death, alongside hilarious challenges and deep friendships. With Danny and Colleen as jungle favourites, the final showdown will air on 8 December.

In a surprising double eviction twist, boxing champ Barry McGuigan has bid farewell to I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! after 20 days in the wild. Alongside him, the lovely Maura Higgins also packed her bags, making it a double whammy of jungle exits. Barry, labelled the ‘Clones Cyclone’, didn’t expect the fuss about living without his beloved seasoning.

Despite being a world champ and a true fighter, Barry admitted the jungle was tougher than he anticipated. “I’ve had an incredible time but it was tough having no salt or pepper; we take these things for granted!” he quipped. The emotional highlights included him sharing touching memories of his daughter, who tragically lost her battle with cancer, leaving viewers misty-eyed.

During his stay, Barry tackled two challenges – one as thrilling as being in a boxing ring, the other as constricted as a snake’s hug. He expressed frustration during the coffin challenge, struggling to unlock stars from padlocks while snakes swirled around. But redemption came in the ‘spiralling out of control challenge’, netting 10 out of 11 stars.

In campmates’ camaraderie news, Barry made a lovely buddy in Danny Jones and declared, “Danny boy will win!” Meanwhile, Maura reflected on her experience, admitting, “I really did embrace it. I didn’t think I would have embraced it as much as I have.” Craving a feast, she dreamt of a “big massive breakfast” and chocolate.

As for who’s still in the wild and vying for the crown? Danny Jones and Colleen Rooney are leading the favourites list, but with Oti Mabuse, GK Barry, Alan Halsall, and the Reverend Richard Coles in the mix, there’s bound to be some jungle drama! The nail-biting final airs on Sunday, 8 December at 9.00pm.

In summary, our boxing hero Barry McGuigan waved goodbye to the jungle, sharing laughs and some heart-wrenching stories along the way. His memorable time with campmates, including his champion mate Danny and a yearning for bacon and eggs, showcased the jungle’s chaotic charm. Who will snag the crown? Danny and Colleen are faves, but stay tuned for the final on 8 December!
